The Successful Link™ to Weight loss and Well Being

"Everything about this course is what's missing in a "diet." Most people know that in order to lose weight, they need to eat fewer calories than they take in. What they don't know is why they're not able to do it consistently -- this course fills that void! It's helped me to identify the triggers that lead me away from healthy eating and to manage them when they occur. Anyone who has ever found something missing in their own weight-loss efforts would benefit from the lessons. Thanks for the knowledge and encouragement, Leslie!"

"I'm a tough nut to crack. I've dieted since I was 12, but I never had the tools to be successful at losing weight and keeping it off. Leslie's Weight Loss class gave me the tools to be successful by knowing how to handle the negative and destructive self talk that has sabotaged me in the past. I still have a long way to go, but I'm at least on my way!"

"I have struggled with weight issues for years. I've been on most of the popular diets and created a few of my own that actually worked. With Leslie Hoy's weight loss workshop I experienced a life change, not a diet. She taught me how to think differently, which resulted in changing my behavior. I received valuable tools to help me keep focused and to help me if I do get off track. Most of all, I appreciated the focus on health, eating well, exercising and relaxation that Leslie provided. I feel empowered to create a healthy lifestyle, get to an appropriate weight and maintain good habits. Thank you, Leslie!"

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is the program format?

This is a skill-based, relatively structured program. Each week, we will review your progress and challenges, and learn new skills to aid in weight loss and maintenance. Individual sessions are tailored to your specific needs and will also include learning the cognitive and behavioral tools.

What is Cognitive Therapy?

Also known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, this is a form of talk of therapy that looks at our thoughts (cognitions) and behaviors. When we learn to think about our dieting issues in a more positive and realistic way, we can then change our behaviors to increase our weight loss success. We are also able to balance our emotions better, so as not to be an "emotional" eater, as many people tend to do.

Do I have to follow a specific Diet plan?

This program works with any healthy diet plan. You may already have a plan that you like and that you have had some success with to date. We will discuss possible diet plans to follow. Please note, I am not a nutritionist, but I would be happy to refer you to a nutritionist if you need a specific plan to follow.

I want to lose weight quickly, is this the program for me?

This is not a crash diet course. The recommended healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week (always talk with your physician or healthcare provider for appropriate individual recommendations). The purpose of this program is to learn a healthy mindset, effective skills and positive behaviors to lose weight and maintain that weight loss. It takes commitment and effort to do this. If you are looking for the "miracle cure" or a "quick fix", this is not the program for you.
